Default Testing TPS

TPS is out of car in my signature. It has three pins, when ohming outside pins i get 4.6ohms. When either outside is ohmed with inside pin, i get .688 ohms to 4.6 ohms, when swept. Anyone got any info on doing this? While sweeping the resistance seemed pretty consistant, but at a certain point it would go from measuring #.## to #.### so is it possible at a certain point during the sweep the measurement becomes finer? any input is appreciated.

Thanks.

you should be able to carefully drill out the rivits and then screw the new TPS in its place.

^Indeed. If you can find a deal on just the TPS, buy it up. Use a dremel (or a hacksaw if you don't have a dremel, but DO have a steady hand!) and cut a slit into the top of the rivets. They are actually screws, they just don't have typical screw heads. Once you've got a slit in the top, use a flathead screwdriver and they will spin right out.

As for the testing... It's been about 3.5 years since I went through that process and cannot remember the target numbers. They are listed in the Manual though.
