Alright...well, i took some pictures this time around. This time i put it on TDC via the white mark lol.

so after all was said and done the red mark is still off, Its right back to where i started which imo ran better then when i started messing with it.

Sorry for the big pictures...

D16 ZC so it should be lined up with the plastic arrow.

Crank strait up with the keyway up

here is a picture with the crank pulley on, i know it looks a bit off but its cause that's the only angle my that makes the white mark clear, when you look down the sight it lines up perfect.

Jumper .. this is the right one right? 88 civic

Alright so here is a picture i took of it with the timing light, i tried to indicate where all the marks are on it so you can tell whats happening. This is with the dizzy pushed all the way towards the fire wall. If i push it towards the bumper the idle slows down, it bogs, and the marks move farther away from the sight.

so thats where i am, I think i might go get a dizzy from autozone and if it fixes the problem keep it and if it doesn't take it back, ill get a full refund.

Nice pictures. You seem to have the mechanical timing set correctly, so I agree that purchasing a new dizzy assembly is the logical next course of action. I guess a bad CYL sensor is preventing the ECU from properly seeing the position of cylinder 1 and thereby throwing the timing off:

thanks for that. But now im a little cautious on buying a dizzy since they are like 200-400 dollars...i thought they were like 100-200 but 200 is a little out of my price range right now. So if anything i would either buy a used one or one from ebay from like Distributor king or something. I'm gunna go check my wiring on the distributor one more time and then i guess start looking for a distributor if i can't find a problem.

Yeah, everyone is on a tight budget with the high gas prices. Here are some online parts stores that may be worth looking into:
