So I bought a 94 2 door EX automatic with 140,000 miles. It's running pretty good except that sometimes intermittently there is a small shake coming from the transmission when cruising at about 30mph in what I think is 3rd gear. If I step on the gas and put a little more load on the engine then it stops shaking. It's only when I'm mainting speed and lite on the gas pedal around 30mph that this happens.

Any ideas on whatthis symptom issuggesting? Also- haven't had a chance to change the tranny fluid yet, but it looks like it certainly needs to be changed.

 

You're on the right track-it's best to go the cheap route and go from there. changing tranny fluid is the easiest thing you can do at this point. Unfortunately automatic Honda trannies aren't exactly known to be bulletproof... who knows how the previous owner drove the car.

 

kind of sounds like my prob with my tranny.. i just have a 98 and 120,000. But when im at about 25-30 and let off the gas it feels like the tranny kicks back and then shifts down..it weird.. like i let off the gas and the car shakes.. but only at about 25-30 im guessing 2nd to 1st gear?
