Default Trouble Codes; dead batteries; blown fuses;

Hi,

My speedometer went dead and the MIL came on while driving. The Speed Sensor/Alternator fuse under the dash blew, but engine ran fine till I got it home. (I know it was running on the battery once that fuse blew - but I had to start it and move it after getting home and it started right up.) It sat the next two days, but on the third day I tried to start it and the battery was dead. The codes said PO135, PO141, and P1298. I tried replacing the fuse just to see if it was a fluke, but the new one blew right after I started it.

I found some relevant posts here - but none of them involved a dying battery or a blown fuse, or both O2 sensors, or codeP1298. Can anyone help? I'd appreciate it much.

Matt

Here's the summary:
Engine:
D16Y7 1.6L SOHC non-VTEC 96+ Civic CX/DX/LX 106hp
Codes:
PO135 O2 Heater Circuit (Bank 1, Sensor 1)
PO141 O2 Heater Circuit (Bank 1, Sensor 2)
P1298 Electrical Load Detector Circuit High Input

Default RE: Trouble Codes; dead batteries; blown fuses;

Use a battery charger to charge up the battery first or swap in a charged one. Find out why the fuse is blowing. Try unplugging stuff until the fuse holds. That fuse may be powering the O2 sensors so that's why those codes came up. Generally when there's a major power problem the ECU tends to throw a bunch of bogus codes, so pretty much ignore them for now.
