Default Tune Up

Newbie here, I searched your entire forum and couldn't find anything on what I should do to do a tune up on my 1998 ex sedan. Just wanted to find out if any one has a list of parts or work that I need to do for a tune up. Thanks.

Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, sea foam, ingition timing, valve timing.

The two timings are only necessary at certain intervals, but if you're uncertain I would do them. I'm ussualy skeptical of any kind of stuff you dump into the engine from a can, but Sea Foam really helped liven my motor up at my last tune up.

Just walk down to Napa and tell them you want the stuff for a tune up and they'll give you the plugs/wires/cap/rotor. Then you just need to buy the bottle of sea foam and then do some research on how to check the timing.

Sea Foam is basically an all purpose cleaning agent for your car's internals. You put it in your oil through the crank case to help with gunk in there, you can add it to your fuel to clean the fuel lines/injectors, and you can put it in your throttle body to clean out any carbon buildup.. it's great stuff. Helps with engine idle and all around performance. I suggest if you are going to do the throttle body cleaning get the spray can, makes things much easier.. just read the instructions either way, it tells you what to do.. search on here for sea foam and a couple of how to's come up..

This was the second thing I did to my car (second only to replacing the ground wires with 4 gauge wire).. A buddy told me about it and helped me because this was the first time I really did anything under a hood of a car. I wasn't sure what would happen, but he said that there might be some nice white smoke coming from the tailpipe... Well, he was right!! I filled the road with white smoke as I drove down the road.. looked like something out of spyhunter!!
