Default RE: UP-Down Idle

I was told how to do this by the honda dealer. He said because the CX and DX do not have the Anti-Theft radio that I do not need to bring the car in to clear the "Check Engine" code. I am not sure what years this proceedure will work on, but it has worked on my 97 Honda DX several times

Default RE: UP-Down Idle

Thanks for the help, it was the idle control valve. I replaced it and the car idles fine now. When I drove the car after replacing the valve the idle was very low and the car dies several times when I stopped. I drove the car about 25 miles and the the computer must have adjusted for the new valve, the car now runs like a cat in heat!
