VISUAL evidence of failed ECU?
Hi all - this is a TERRIFIC forum and has helped me a TON. Current problem: crank / no-start on 1992 Civic LX 5-speed manual.
The problem is, ECU is not priming my fuel pump. (CEL comes on, stays on when key is at II position.) I'd already ruled out everything else: methodically checked * main relay; * all fuses; * ignition switch; * fuel pump. When I jumper the #5 and #7 pins on the relay wire bundle, fuel pump primes just fine. Battery is strong, starter is fine, etc etc.
Also confirmed that the ECU's logic ground wire (A26) does connect to ground when key is in II position.
So I'm confident my ECU has failed. But...when I open it up, the circuit board *looks* fine. No fried capacitors (happened to me once) or anything. Board looks PRISTINE. But...could it be bad and still look good?
MANY THANKS! :-)
