Default warning signs of timing belt tensioner failure

so..as we all know there may be little to no warning if your timing belt is about to fail.

but my question is will there be warning if the tensioner is about to fail?

any sort of noise, or anything?

also if the belt snaps it will most likely be fatal for your engine.

what if the tensioner fails? will it be just as fatal?
