Washer motor/pump location??
Seriously, it takes like 5 minutes tops to take the bumper off, and you don't even need 2 people to do it. Putting it back on is just as easy. The hard part is remembering where you left the fasteners.
i agree..it will take you 5 min after you figer out were all the bolts are, and theres no problem at all getting it realind and what not, fits like a glove...and dont worry,i was afread to take off my front bumper too when i did it the first time, but after you do it and realize how easy it is, you will be telling other people how easy it is
Whelp, got a story for you all. Let me start off by saying that I did a lot of research on how to get this motor swapped out. Now for the story.
I toke my car over to a buddies that has a lift in his garage. He helps me out a lot on all my vehicles. So Monday afternoon I went and bought a new washer motor, and then went to my buddy’s house. I told him that I had print outs from the internet on how to get the front bumper off, which would make it the easiest process to get to the reservoir. He said lets put it up on the lift first and take a look from underneath. At this point I was confident that I could get the bumper off easily after finding all the screws and plastic pop rivets (whatever their called).
Anyways, we get it up and start looking and decided to take a screw out and one pop rivet out. We decided that we could bend the plastic over enough to get to the motor. We did that, and by holding the plastic over (front part of the inner fender plastic) we were able to get the old motor out and get the new one back in. I put the screw and pop rivet back in place and we lowered the car. Got in and tested it out, and still no fluid. We then started troubleshooting what else is could be.
My buddy got the air hose out and started blowing air over the fluid lines, which caused fluid to come up, but still would not come out by using the switch/lever in the car. We talked for a bit on what else could be the problem????... My buddy and father then started asking me how the switch/lever for the wipers and fluid was suppose to be pushed to get fluid to come out. I told them that your suppose to push straight down and that's when the fluid should start coming out, but wasn't. I even tried pushing in (towards the steering column) to get it to come out, but that would not work either. They say, did you try pulling towards you? [sm=chairshot.gif] OMFG!!!!! my answer was, no, I never thought of that! I get in, turn the key on and pull towards me and wa la, it works just fine. The old one was still good too after testing it.
I was not going to post this much detail, but I deserve it! Hopefully this will help me think a little more about things before I think there broke lol. [sm=nerd.gif]
