i just bought a 98 civic cx hatchback and the wipers stop in the middle of the windshield when i turn them off how can i fix this issue

 

There is a switch in the motor that is supposed to keep the wipers running until they come down to the bottom of the windshield. But that is also linked through the control switch on the column. Would need to pull a diagram and make tests to see which part is the problem, either the motor or the switch. Of course both are kind of expensive.
