Wiper Fuse Keeps Blowing...
Hi all, newb here with a question for some of you guys who may have some insight to this problem; my daughter's '01 Civic coupe keeps blowing the windshield wiper fuse, and before I go through the hassle of replacing the wiper motor, are there any other possibilities I should be looking into? Could it be a relay that is the source of the problem, andis that a more likely cause?
I appreciate any ideas you can offer...

The short could also be in the switch or the multiplex control unit (MCU) or the wires interconnecting the components. Attempt to locate the short by disconnecting the motor or the MCU. Finding that the fuse doesn't blow with one of these components disconnected when the switch is turned ON will help locate the short.
Make sure a fuse of correct amperage is being used. Trace the wires from the switch and the motor. Look for any sign of heat damage. Make sure the ground for the wiper circuit is solid and not corroded.
Could be the wiper arm mechanism jamming too. Do the wipers move at all or does the fuse blow instantly when switched on?
If the fuse block has overheated so it no longer makes good contact with the fuse, it will continue to overheat and blow new fuses even though the actual current flow is not excessive.
