2002 manual transmision
Hello Civic lovers
It is my first time on this forum although I'm really into the honda product line. My first civic was a 91 hb. with manual trans. After 100,000 or so miles I blew the trany, after three atemps at bone yard tranys I decided to try to rebuild one. Gears and sincros were fine so I just replaced all bearings, this did the trick as the trany never failed till the day I sold that green beauty with 225,000 miles on the OD.
Ok, my question is, both cars were modified and of course had larger wheels and tires. Does this trash the tranny sooner?
My '02 ex has 60'000 miles on it I have installed cold air intake and exhast, the car has 17" wheel with sticky tires. The trany is starting to make that fimiliar ginding/whining noise. Is ther a rebuild kit out there? Comments would be appreciated.
Thanks
Rossco

Im new to honda's too, but have you considered changing the transmission oil? I've heard of vehicles having this same problem when the transmission oil needs to be changed....I hope this is helpful!
