Default Im new here and i got some questions

What up yall. Ok first things first I dont have a civic but am looking into one and i figured this place would be good to get some info on the cars. Now Id be usin this car as a daily driver and to go to and from the race track. Do you guys/gals think that a civic would pull a small trailer, i mean big enuff to put a atv on? If not then Im goin to look for a small truck of some sort. Now the atv weighs about 350-425 pounds and the trailer would weigh about maybe 400-500? Also how are these cars in crashes Ive talked to some people and they seem to think small cars are death traps if you get into a accident. Thanks .

I might be way off on this, but I really wouldn't want to try and tow anything short of a lawn mower with my civic. I am sure there are people that do tow things with them, but there may be a law somewhere that states just how much you Can effectively tow. I just don't know what it is.

My 97 states that the total allowance for cargo is 850Lbs, including passengers I believe. Anything over that and it will probably not be a safe bet. A honda is an awesome thing though, if you are looking to tow, and get out cheaper then brand new, grab an older Passport, my aunt has one and swears by it, They have since come out with the CR-V and Piolt, and I don't think they make them anymore, but they are cheap, and can probably tow quite a bit.

Thats about my only suggestion

dont buy a passport when i was at the dealer those were nothing but a problem mabey ur aunt got a good one by some chance stunt.

a cr-v would be good though they still get good mileage, they still make cr-vs and pilots. i wouldntwant to tow anthing with a civic, ive seen ppl

towing with an accord though, the accord would be the honda car to go with find an older one like a 90-93 it should work for what u want to do

and i know u can get ahitch for it that should bolt right on

Funny this came up cause a guy i go snowmobiling with pulls his 2005 Ski Doo Rev600 HOon a single trailer behind his 06 auto civic DX. It pulls it fine, but it does struggle slightly in deeper snow whereas my dads ford F-150 does one tire fireall day but kicks *** . Its more in the tires but then again, You have a ATV not a sled.

Well civics dont have a lot of torque so you would definitively feel how much slower it will take to get up to speed. But if you really like the civics the go for it.
