I just bought a 1990 Honda Civic Hatchback and I dont know where to get started.

 

congatulations on your great purchase. details please like what model standard, dx, si. any rust?

 

I would study the hell out of it learn as much as you can on what you want to do and uptain some money.

 

it is a '90 hatchdack standard and it has a little rust, but in pretty good condition. It runs good, needs exaust. needs to get sunroof fixed, and the drivers side seat is torn. Need cheap perfomance!!!

 

Start with an Ebay Short Ram Intake. Makes your car sound a little louder but wont make it sound like crap/rice. Youll notice a difference.

welcome to the forum. yea basically look into what your engine is and what you want done with it. as you will learn on here the basics performance parts are intake/headers/exhaust. good luck

 

If it's a standard, save up and swap the engine. It sounds like you have an Si though with that sun roof, unless it's aftermarket. If it's an Si you can get some decent power gains with I/H/E.

 

seeing how you have an si your stock motor (unless its been swaped out) should be a D16A6 making around 108hp, good luck with you ride

 

Sorry guys not an SI, wish it was its a standard 1500 (which sucks)! but wat would be a decent motor to throw in, on some sort of a buget. It also has no muffler so i need to find a cheap muffler or full exhaust so help me out!

 

do a mini me swap with a d16z6 head and you will have vtec for a few hundred bucks.
