Hey all, Just joined, and I am looking at buying an 86 crx si. I was wondering if you all could tell me what you think it is worth. It is an 86, 212K, manual trans. Not sure on maintenance history, but good tires and shocks and brakes. sunroof, but no AC. driver's window crank is broken, but I think I can find a part at the junk yard to fix that. The body isn't too bad, some dents, but there is a rust spot on the A pillar that goes all the way through. And the gas gauge only reads when there is less than half a tank (that's the most important time, right?). He wants 1100, but kelley blue book says 675. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance.

 

That blue book figure sounds more around the price I'd pay. He's high ballin it so he doesn't get low balled in the final sale.

 

Well, here's the thing, it is my buddies car, and he still owes that much on it. So that's why he wants that much. He's going to try to get that, but I've already offered him $700, so we'll see. I've been driving it for the last week, and I really dig the gas mileage. Way better than the 10-12 my truck gets. In fact, at $700, it will pay for itself in less than a year just in gas savings.

I wouldn't offer more than 750-800 max, and that's only because he's your friend. Fun car though, and yeah, you'll love the divinity of Civic gas mileage.
