Well, if you drive a manual tranny, you have to let off the gas when you shift, which closes the throttle plate. When you close the throttle plate, a ton of pressure builds up inbetween the compressor and the throttle plate that can potentially damage the turbo. So when you shift in a manual, a vacuum is created in the intake mani, and the bov opens to release that pressure. Also, when driving either an auto or manual, when you decide to stop accelerating, you close the throttle plate and the bov opens.

thats why it wears an auto down faster than a manual...cuz your gettin tons of power on shifting while the engine is still goin.

i believe a BOV opens on an auto...just not as much and not for as long.

You wont have to re-spool the turbo in between shifts

what are greddy's set at 5.5 psi or 6?

Nego8tor, i was simply stating that 50 HP is what a you SHOULD get. BUT A TUNE WILL GIVE U SOME MORE.

FASTCIVIC the greddy kits are set at 5.5 PSI. You can get a boost controller and raise it up a bit, but thats where the tune comes in.

ok that explains it for the auto tranny. Well, I had my kick down cable tightened, afterwards my tranny doesn't wanna shift till I actually let off the gas.

thats not a bad idea if you have a tach and know your shiftpoints, because one major problem with auto that you dont have to worry about with manual is it shifts before peak power
