pretty darn close. closer than a lot of cars, and WAY closer than my Powerstroke work truck. it shifts at 3100 if its buried, and redline is like 4k.

ok that explains it for the auto tranny. Well, I had my kick down cable tightened, afterwards my tranny doesn't wanna shift till I actually let off the gas.

i dont get it? Is that good or bad?

So would you say there'd be less tranny wear on a turbo'd auto civic than lets say an auto neon? Assuming there driving the same way and all that.

Yes a turbo on an auto is good cause you dont loose boost and have to respool between shifts.

I never said faster though, A stick is mainly faster because you can slip the clutch to help you launch and heel toe to rev match to keep boost. Heel toe is not as easy as itd seem though.

Plus a stick can handle the power easier, the auto can only handle so much HP

Heel-toe is really more for road racing though keeping the boost up when downshifting and going around corners.

I think good. Well, first of all, during regular driving when it's in D, it almost sounds like a 5 speed, and Im sure to a ricer it does. Plus, I do get to decide what rpm I want to car to shift at, instead of it shifting just on its own. Basically, I have my foot on the gas, then at what ever RPM I want it to shift at , I let off the gas and it shifts. Long as Im over 2,700 rpm's though, other wise it will stay in the same gear. I like it though.

One more question?

My car is a daily driver and I'm a pretty cautious driver although I'll speed on occasions. I want a turbo not to race but to go fast when I need to, say when a tractor trailer truck is coming behind me with reckless abandon or when I have to pass someone quickly on the right. Adding a turbo to my automatic daily driver but not racing all the time should be okay? Right? The tranny shouldn't wear that quickly if I'm not racing it all the time. Right?

You should look at superchargers if all you want is passing power.

And when your driving a stick, the turbo doesn't have to re-spool when you shift up unless your shifts take like 10 seconds.
