Won't it cost more than $1300 to build the motor to run high boost? Pistons, rods, and rings are like 1k by them self. And then you have to have the motor sleeved and blue printed. Then you have the cams, valves, retainers, and springs. So it isn't necessarly easier to go N/A.

Hell, I'm 17 and just installed a turbo on my civic. Now, mine was around $3000 but that's because I payed for it brand new, and I had the money because I had been saving up since I was like 13. My suggestion is go turbo or sc because it is going to be cheaper than NA. Buying pistons and rods is probably going to cost you around 6-800, and it really isn't as simple as just putting them in your engine. If you wanna do it right, you're gona have to take the engine out of your car, and pretty much tear the whole thing apart. And you'd be stupid not to get the cylinders resurfaced and honed, because beleive it or not, the aren't perfect circles anymore, so putting perfectly round pistons in there isn't going to cut it. So I'm guessing that for all of the labor you are going to be well into the $1000's of dollars, and you will only have probably 30 or 40 more hp, and thats being generous. Go boost, it's easier, trust me.

i know you said rule out turbos, but why? I could piece you a kit that would cost less than all the stuff you have on your car now. Seriously, were talkin under $1,000. A good DC header is goin to run you 300$.........and then other BS bolt on stuff is going to add up verrry quickly......

Listen to these guys, go turbo. N/A on a civic is pointless in my opinion.

Well Im not against superchargers at all, but i dont think they suit your application that well. A turbo can be tuned, and boost is adjusted by turning a ****, essentially I think in the right hands (tuner) a turbo will make more power at a lesser cost.
