help! turbo smoking?

Default help! turbo smoking?

hey im new to this forum thing i just need help on my civic. it is a 96 coupe with a 1.6 t3 t4 turbo. i recently put it on fri and it smokes bad! out threw the exhaust side everytime i give it gas its practicly building up and leaking. can anyone help?

bad turbo oil seal, u have a bad turbo.

also do you even know about turbo's?
do you have a turbo timer?
do you let your car run for 2-3 mins after driving it, before you turn it off?

2-3 minutes is a bit much, 45 sec - a min should be fine....

a turbo timer will help with this though, although you can do it yourself without, but sounds like you need:

yeah, turbos are a pain if you dont paintain them and run them properly... hell if you dont change your oil enough. there is a banks system for big trucks that keeps the motor running until the turbo properly cools down... turbo timer included... nearly noob proof as long as a pro installs it...


Coking turbos is expensive.. change your damn oil.
