You were not running insanely rich. If you did, your motor would cut off. I have a b16 and I have experience with it. B16 will get hot very easily and you have to have it a little rich or your motor will eventually blow. I dont think you have just a ring problem. I think and can promise you that there are chunks missing out of your pistons.

A VAFC is only a bandaid to get you by until you get to a shop with a chipped ecu or a stand alone setup.

tuning a turbo with just an A/F Computer is always a bad idea man. ad yeah if you were running rich you wouldnt have blown, you would just be bogging down and getting horrible MPG

Sounds like your engine injested itself, IE you put a few holes in your pistons. I'd check your turbo while you're at it, I'd be surprised if you didn't destroy some of the exhaust fins if you did what I think you did to that engine.

I said get a chipped ECU and have it tuned... not get a VAFC and have it haggle crapped and called "tuned." [&:]

Running rich would have possibly caused you to wash out the rings and have insanely high EGTs which is probably how you probably melted the pistons.
