question about supercharger vs. turbo torque
ok, i've been thinkin about this, i know with supercharger on a fwd car is too much torque at low rpm's vs the lag of a turbo. but what if with a supercharger you did a 3 grand launch, would that be too much. because smaller turbo's spool qucily so aat 4000 rpm arent you producing the same amount of torque if not more with a turbo?
hope i wrote this up to where people can understand it.

RE: question about supercharger vs. turbo torque
at idle the engine isnt really producing the amount of exhaust needed to spool a turbo like you are probably thinking. With a s/c just feather the clutch and you'll be fine. "harness the power!"

at idle? he said 4000 rpm? im confused. but i know it wont make full torque anyway, unless you have launch control so you can open the throttle all the way, that would allow it to spool.

RE: question about supercharger vs. turbo torque
Hmm I ran into this guy that owns an outboard motor shop. He gets his mechanics to frequently install superchargers on the motors. He also got these guys to supercharge his 04 vette. Now the mechanics are big import tuners.... he said they can do my civic real cheap. should I trust it? I mean... these guys do it to outboards all day and they did their boss' vette.....

RE: question about supercharger vs. turbo torque
Alot of schools of thought on this. My other car is a Bonneville SSEi. Factory supercharged (hopped up a bit now). All that low-down torque in a car that heavy is an immense load on a trans. In a lighter car like a Honda, it's not that bad, especially at lower boost levels. I'd say it's a tossup between the turbo and SC. All depends on where you want that torque delivered.
Now think about running BOTH. SC off the line, dump the SC at 3k rpm's, just in time for the turbo to spool
