supercharger or turbo

RE: supercharger or turbo
It seems that there are always certain things people overlook when they suggest a supercharger. Most of the time, they argue that a S/C will give you more low end torque. This may be true, but it isn't a good thing. I think this is the 3rd or 4th time I've posted something like this, and I think sacicons has posted numerous times on it too: A buttload of low-end torque won't do you any favors in an F/F car. Then, assuming you can get it off the line in a timely fashion, you don't get enough higer end boost to give you a real advantage. You may be able to spend less for a S/C, but you get what you pay for. There's a reason turbos cost more...

Actually from my experiences, turbos cost quite a bit less then superchargers. I've seen a supercharger that dyno tested only 272 hp on a civic that cost the same as a turbo kit thats meant to handle up to 500 hp. And theres also the torque issue, as Kappa mentioned.

RE: supercharger or turbo
thought so cause i've seen people with s/c run faster then all motor cars but and keep up with cars that are turbo. but people say if you get a good price on a s/c and if you dont mind a lil power then thats ok but i think what im looking for is turbo thanks guys.
