what is the engine that goes in the Acura RSX type S? K20a? just wondering because im looking into a supercharger and would it be safe to add a wet or direct port injection into a supercharged engine and is it safe with a turboed engine? i dont think it is but just curiouse. and also what is K-PRO? it goes with the Supercharger.

trying to figure out if there is a supercharger for a K20A engine because i plan on dropping on into a 05 Civic (bye bye warranty ) Saw this Supercharger in a mag. i got and was wondering if the RSX type S engine was the K20a. If u have any knowledge were i can get a good supercharger for this engine please let me know (K20A, stage 2 or 3 if super's have stages) thanks

 

Check out Vortec. I think they make one for your K20. It might make your wallet thin as paper though... but some Vortec kits have been proven to literlly double stock engine power alone... or more.

i checked out Vortec and i think there supercharger is a turbo. I dont see any belt reel or anything and i do think its a turbo. So anyone know where i can get a turbo for a K20?

the vortech is a supercharger. when you are looking at the engine bay, the supercharger sits on the left front corner of the block. a rod runs in front of the block and has a pully on one end and the turbine is attatched to the other. the pully is on a belt. since its belt driven, its a supercharger.

 

Jackson Racing makes one

 

Jackson Racing does indeed make one. It's a "roots" style SC like the one I have. There are twin screws inside a housing that replaces the intake manifold. The Vortec one is a centrifugal type; it looks a lot like a turbo, acts a lot like a turbo, but it is still turned by the crank as Nails said. I dont' think they make one for the RSX though.
