I love when Im reading through a thread thinking of things Im going to say and then I read on and Sov says it better than I ever could. Hey Rice, listen to every word he tells you cuz he knows his stuff.I do have to say that you should probably hang around while your buddy does all this work on your car cuz like Sov said things will break and it would be nice if you had at least a clue about what is in your car. Another thing is that you wont recieve nearly the respect you wouldhaving let someone else put the wrench time into your car. Good luck with the build!

I will help, just make sure that you're asking intelligent questions that have specifics that I can answer. Do I know what it takes to build an 800whp car, yes. Can I tell you how? No. See what I'm saying? The only questions you should need to ask are specific questions, lengths, sizes, expectations with such and such, etc. Manufacturers and speed shops have their contacts available to you, use them! This is where getting additional opinions is going to be needed, as each shop/manufacturer will be biased towards the products they sell.

You're going to need to pick a power goal before you start buying parts. 350whp or more becomes pretty useless on the street, people tell tales of spinning even 5th gear with anything less than 24/7 drag radials. Also remember, that once you pass that point things get serious and every 50 more whp you make is going to cost considerable additional amounts of money.

You cannot overlook anything, start with one part at a time. Pick a goal, what turbo will you need for it. Research. What kind of manifold will support my goals and why, research. What size IC piping and IC will I need, research. How much fuel is this engine going to need, how do I get it to the engine? Research. How will I control the fuel and timing, what is their available and why is it good/not good. Research.

Get your opinions, make your conclusion, buy your parts. Set your goals, work around them, look at similar setups, see what other people do, adjust to fit what you want. It's a lot to take in at first, but once you start to understand how things work it gets easier. If you really are on step one, start here.
