97 Honda Civic Brake light stays on

Default 97 Honda Civic Brake light stays on

I have a 97 civic that the breake light stays on. What are the possible problems?

check to make sure you have enough brake fluid. that would be my first thought.

My mistake, the light that stays on is the in the taillight assembly. So I should have said the stoplight stays on. My apologies

oh.
that's better.

you have a bad ground somewhere. I would start by removing the taillight on that side, and looking for any bare wires that could either be touching the body of the car, or touching another wire.
