Default Brake Dust...

i have a big problem....my brakes recently went on my car....my driverside front rim is completely covered in brake dust. its so bad that it looks like rust...and its thick, any idea of how to remove this???? i just got my rims not even 2 months ago and it looks horrible, i was told dish soap and a brissel brush, but i tryed that and no luck...help!

try brake cleen or carb cleaner any fast drying solvent that won't leave a film behind, don't use brisle brushes unless you want to risk scratching the finish of your wheels.

its reallly really thick though, ive tryed the brake cleaner and its slowly cleaning it, but it still looks reallly bad, ive been using a toothbrush, but i guess ill try the carb cleaner to?

is your rims are just a aluminum with no paint on them try some wheel acid... but if you have painted rims i wouldnt recommend it...

also maybe try some steel wool

after u are done cleaning it american racing sells a wax to go on your rims that holds a static electric charge that the dust won't stick to it
