Default brake problemo...

my moms 2002 grand prix gt's rear brake's are squealing, they're disk not drum... i took it to the pontiac dealer around here and they put new pads on the front and back and that didn't do it, so i took it back and they "really" looked at it and they said it may be some frikin vacuum or whatever... i just want ya'lls idea on what it may be???

I've never heard of a vacuum on a brake caliper. I suspect that these guys don't know what they are doing. Squealing and stuff is gonna either be caused by metal on metal contact or vibration in the brake system. I would say to take the calipers off and check out whats going on or take it to a better mechanic. Keep taking it back until they fix the problem, you paid them (if its not under warranty) to fix the squaling and the squealing is not gone yet so they have not done what you paid them to do.

If its under warranty, they have to fix the problem. Show up at thier door everyday until they fix it. If they refuse to fix it or say there is not problem, talk to the regional manager. Make sure that you keep every docmuent of when you take your car in b/c if they don't fix the problem and the warranty runs out you can still have it fixed if you have documentation that says that the problem existed while the car was under warranty.
