Default H&R help on a '97 civic

Yesterday my buddy sold me a set of H&R springs. The problem is when we installed what we thought were the right pair for the front and rear, the front is so low that the tire rubs in the wheel well (i have 17's) and the back is still as high as stock. Does anyone know whether or not the most compressed springs go in the front or the rear? Or did i do them right and they're just bad sprigs. I just need to know which are for the front and which are for the rear, i looked up on google and couldn't find anything. Thanks

The thicker ones that are coiled more tightly go in the front, and the more widely spaced, thinner ones go in the back. You did them Bass Ackwards.

P.S: I'm a little forked up right now, so please don't take offense at my language.
