Default Help converting rear brakes

I've been reading up on changing the drums on my 98 ex to disk and after searching around here I think I can handle it myself alright. Only problem is I couldn't find much info on abs, I'm pretty sure it came as an option on my car by I'm not sure if I have it or not. I've never feel my brakes lock up so I think I might, but it's my first car so I don't know what it feels like when you don't have abs. Is there an easy way to tell? Like a VIN digit or a part under the hood i can see? If I do how would that affect getting the conversion parts from an Intergra, would things like the proportioning valve need to come from a certain model? Sorry if this question has been asked before I couldn't find anything using the search.

What kind of car?

If it's a coupe and it's a manual, you don't have 'em. Otherwise, find a wet parking lot and do some mythbusting.

Alright, this DIY will be your holy grail: http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/ab_bra...275324,00.html

I don't know where your abs module is, but follow the brake lines from the master cylinder to the proportioning valve to the module.
OR, you can find an open road (dirt or gravel make it easier) get up to 35-40 and hit the brakes hard and hold them. If the brake pedal pulsates all crazy you have ABS. If you don't know if it pulsated all crazy or not then you more than likely don't have ABS.

OR, turn your ignition on without stepping on the clutch, or if you have an auto turn it to the point just before your starting the car. Several lights should come on in your guage cluster, if you have abs, one of them will read ABS and it should flash a few times then turn off.

^^lol, I never thought of that one, probably since I don't have ABS.
