Default How do you allign an '04 Civic?

I own a 2004 Civic and I am having some issues with my alignment. It was pulling very hard to the right, so I took it in to have an alignment done on it. The shop said that the car was definitely out of alignment but the technician was unable to adjust the tie-rods. He said that they would not move, therefore he was unable to perform the alignment. They also informed me that my left front tire was bald and needed to be replaced, this I knew and did shortly after. Come to find out, there was only 7k miles on that tire and it was ready to go (see pic). Note: I replace that tire right before I took it in for its 60K service at the dealership. I then called the dealership and asked if they adjusted the tie-rods when it was in. They told me that you can't adjust the tie-rods and that the alignment on the "newer cars" is done a differently. So now I don't know who to believe...dealership or independent shop. Either way, I have a problem because I know that tires aren't supposed to ware that quickly unless there is something wrong. I don't know my imports very well so I am pleading with anyone out there...

HOW DOES ONE ADJUST THE ALIGNMENT ON AN '04 CIVIC?

please feel free to mock my ignorance all you want...I know I am an idiot for not knowing...but you gotta start somewhere.

Thanks,

Civi

well just get a alignment shop to do the work.... and if they say they cannt ask is it something seized or they just cannt do it...

on my 99civic i had a rear toe adjuster bolt that was seized, i had to cut it off and replace the toe arm.

but needless to say if its simply a toe adjustment that is off eating your tire then if its not seized it should be a easy fix.
i really dont see the alignment being NON ADJUSTABLE..... they have made them adjustable for practicaly ever now.LOL i think the shop you took it to is just stupid as hell or lazy. either way dont take your car back to them! if in doubt have the stealership do the alignment.

front end alignments are basically the same for every car/truck from 30 years ago to the brand spakin new ones. just break the lock nut loose from the outer tie rod and adjust the inner tie rod accordingly. i believe the lock nut is a 19mm and the inner tie rod is a 14mm. the problem that the tech may have had was a seized tie rod. he probably didnt want to risk breaking a tie rod and end up costing u loads of money on a new part and labor. if u take it to another shop, let them know that the last tech that tried an alignment had troubles with adjustment just so they can be aware that a tie rod could possibly break.

ya but either way... fixing the tierod is cheaper in the long run then keep replacing tires and having to fight the steering all the time to keep straight!
