just got an alignment
hey i just got my alignment, and my steering wheel is a little bit straighter than before, which is a plus, but i also feel that the steering is looser and maybe even more responsive? before the alignment, i had to firmly hold the steering wheel because it was kind of wobbly/vibrated a little. Is the looser feeling normal? does it have anything to do with my tie rods? I think the alignment guy mentioned that my driver side steering was off -whatever that means?

The reason the wheel feels looser is because before the alignment it took effort to hold it straight, and while holding it straight you were holding the front wheels against their alignment, and the wheels' resistance to stay straight is the force that made the steering wheel feel stiffer while holding it in position.
With the alignment fixed, the steering wheel can be centered without any force being exerted upon it to cause it to be anything other than straight, hence the loose and more responsive feeling.
It's great being able to hold the wheel straight with minimal effort, isn't it?
On my old Civic I went like 6 months without an alignment, after I bought the car (it needed it when i bought it), and when I got the alignment I was so ecstatic that around corners I could let the wheel slide through my fingers back to straight, without driving into a ditch. LOL
