Default opinion on front strut bar

whats your take on this item? I found the same item off of ebay for 54$

i have found stainless steel and aluminum strut bars, which is better? the alum ones all look more reputable. Also, would it be beneficial to install just a front bar, or do I need front and rear to make a difference?

It will slightly stricken some body flex in aggressive turning, but not much, especially with that item, and is over priced for a knockoff. If you want tighter turning, invest in something useful such as a rear sway bar.

You'd be better off with a GSR strut bar, a 99-00 Si bar, or a 92-95 SiR bar. They don't have hinges (so they help more with flexing than the ones with hinges) and they're only $30 used. You can find them on ebay, craigslist, and honda-tech marketplace.

That bar will flex some, but for its price it's decent. I have one like that, without the sticker. Given the opportunity, I would go back in time and buy one of the other bars I mentioned instead, or a 3-point strut bar that additionally fastens to the firewall. The 2-point strut bars help, but they cause the strut towers to flex together, whereas a 3-point bar will eliminate most flexing.

Actually, upon second thought, I don't think the 92-95 SiR bar, the 99-00 Si bar, or GSR bar will fit, and not the tripod either, due to your air intake chamber being in the way.

this one says it will fit all models 92-00, and the front bar looks pretty high. I have a short ram so there is a little more room.

those type of hinges look like they will have less give than the first one right?

yea, that one looks like it'll flex less.

I really think that you should get a 99-00 Si strut bar (or the others i mentioned) though... it won't flex, and it's cheap, and it's OEM Honda.

I kind of have a feeling you're just buying the bar for the bling.

yeah, partially cause its a cheap mod i can afford right now, partially cause i got shafted when the tire place i went to talked me into buying their ****ty brand of tires cause they could put them on right away. Since then handling has been terrible, i was hoping this might tighten things up a little.
