Default Question about lowering?

I gotta question.....
I have a 2002 civic with 17 Inch rims and low pros....
I'm looking into lowering the back of the car because I dont like the space between the wheel and the car..... The front is ok, I can live with it.
I want to lower it about 1 to 1.5 inches. Is it possible to just do the rear? I heard coil overs are fine with anything under 1.75 inches.
I cant lower it to much because it has to be able to fit my stock rims and tires for the winter.....

Are coilovers the answer?

What brands should i be looking at?

Thanks

Default RE: Question about lowering?

yes its possible to lower just the rear but ur car will actually handle worse. if u get some good coilovers, ride will be fine and u can adjust the height for front/rear for winter or w/e. if u have the correct size tires on ur 17's, putting ur stock wheels back on shouldnt make much of a difference in ride height.
