Question about wheels/tires
i got an eg coupe
my car isnt fast, not planning to make it faster and the 125hp does well around the Chi town suburb
i have 2 questions for you all honda civic owners
i'm planning to buy wheels + tires package, probably from wheelnext.com (can u suggest any other cheaper websites?) my package will cost me 699$ mounted + shipped
i'm not planning to race or anything, but i'm planning to make my car look good with black rims w/ crome lips, should i go for 205/40/17 or 205/45-50/16?
and another questions, is 205/40/17 is exactly same as 205/50/16 in size wise? does 10+ more profile of the tire equals to 1 inch rim?

RE: Question about wheels/tires
1) http://www.edgeracing.comis a great site with great prices (and go with 205/40-17 tires)
2) This might take a little explaining; let's use a 205/40R-17 tire for example.
The "205" refers to the tire's width in mm. The "40" is the tire's aspect ratio, which is the ratio of the sidewall height to the tire's width. The "R" refers to the tire construction, the R meaning radial in this case. The 17 obviously refers to the wheel size the tire is meant to fit.
As far as I know, the 10+ profile difference equating to a 1" size difference is just a coincedence here, but I could be wrong.
EDIT: Oh, just so you know... if you go with 17's, your speedo will be slightly off... use http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.aspto figure out just how much.

RE: Question about wheels/tires
205/40/17s look alright on ej and egs, as long as you get a drop. They're just a littel bit bigger than stock size, so with a drop they look sick. Without ones questionable though [&:]

RE: Question about wheels/tires
I don't think mine look too bad without the drop (don't worry, Flip... I'm lowering it this summer )... look at my pics sometime...
anyway, the speedo will be around 3% off, which isn't too terrible
