Quick question on lowering..

Default Quick question on lowering..

Since im wanting to lower my car, would it be easier to get coilovers instead of buying shocks and springs seperate?

coilovers are not the same as full-coliovers.

coilovers are just the spring and adjusting perch part. There slip over shocks, which you should upgrade right away.

full-coilovers are full strut replacements, which in the spring, shock, and and adjusting perch all-in-one.

If you are looking for easy, full-coilovers will relieve you of one or two steps, that's all. The hardest part of the job is not breaking bolts and the easiest part is the strut assembly.

It won't make that much of a difference... the biggest thing is that full coils are often ride-height adjustable, whereas I don't know of any spring/shocks combos that offer that. That said, you can usually save yourself a little bit of cash by buying everything seperate, as long as you figure out what kinda drop you want.

unless you plan on tracking the car, or want to change the ride height constantly, don't bother with coil overs

you're better off with a matched spring/shock setup from a reputable manufacturer

"full-coilovers" are prolly impractical, mainly because of price,if all u want is a nice stance and decent handling. u can get a good set of shocks and sleeves if u want adjustable height, i'd recommend tokico blues and skunk2 sleeves, good ride and not to pricey. if u dont really care for adjustable height, then get a nice shock/spring.

+ 1 Full-Coilovers are more expensive than a spring/shock setup.
