Default replacing lower ball joint

I am sure this has been asked before but I can't find any post for it. I am trying to replace the lower ball joins on a 94 Civic EX. I have them off the lower control arm but when I try to push the ball joint out of the steering knuckle the dust shield keeps it from coming out all the way. How do I remove the dust shield from the back of the wheel bearing?
Thanks for the help

[ol][*]Ok I am stupid, it just pops off with a flat blade. I was thinking you had to pull the wheel bearing out.... [/ol]

if you want to replace the lower ball joint then your going to have to have a new one pressed into place. i had to do it on my 99 si and its not fun to do.
