Default So I Swapped over the Suspension to the New Car

So I had a both most of saturday and all day sunday off of work so I decided that this weekend would be a good time to swap over the suspension. I work at Best Buy and the fact that its christmas season theres not telling when I will have that much time off over a weekend again. For those of you who don't remember, I put a whole new suspension on the hatch about 3 months ago so all the stuff is practically new.

Stuff:
Eibach Sportline springs
KYB AGX shocks
Skunk2 Pro Series + front camber kit
Skunk2 rear camber kit
Energy Suspension Urethane bushing kit

Well I got it all in and everything went pretty smoothly except when I went to replace the rear trailing arm bushings. This was the first time I have ever replaced any trailing arm bushings, and these things are a PAIN IN THE A**. I refuse to ever do it again. I spent a good 3 or 4 hours just getting all the factory rubber out of the shell. It was ridiculous.

But its all done now and I went and got it aligned when I got out of school. Rides really nice now, and it feels so much better now that I am back to being close to the ground

So here are some pics, first is before and after, then pics form during the install.

and heres the amount of space I was working in most of the time

and the space I was working in when I did the driver side of the hatch

Default Hard work pays off.

Great job! I too, went through total suspension work on other cars and decided some things are not worth spending an entire weekend on - springs and bushings included.

It looks like you chose some high-quality stuff and the good thing is that it should last a long time. Which car is yours or do you own both?

This reminds me of when I bought my Del Sol... when I bought it I swapped over my entire suspension, wheels, audio system, I/H/E, and random accessories. Anything aftermarket on my Civic went over to my Del Sol.

the ES Trailing Arm bushings are a pain and not worth it. most people end up just replacing them with new OEM or the Mugen bushings which are OEM design but i believe Polyurethane. i've heard countless of times from Road Racers that the ES bushings wernt much of an upgrade, if at all any, from stock..

should be fine for daily driving tho, will probably last you the life of the car..

both clean cars u got.

they are both mine, I just bought the white 2 door about 2 weeks ago, and my parents gave me the hatch 4 1/2 years ago when i turned 16. I will sell it as soon as I get all the parts off of it, so I will only have the new car.

Ya I swapped the suspension and some of my radio already, but I still have to pull out my amps and sub and get them in the new car. but I'm waiting till I get an alarm in the new car before I add any more stereo stuff.

I just ordered a Viper 5701 remote start/security system which should come in in a week or so. and as soon as I get it put in, I will finish swapping all the stereo stuff, then I will be done with the old car.

well first off i have to pay it off, and i'm going to do it as fast as possible. and then deck out the stereo that I have really wanted for a couple of years.

then i'll do some rims, probably either red rota 16" GT3s or silver rota 16" subzeros. then i'll do some black headlights, si or ctr grille, or si front lip, clear fog lights, and a carbon fiber hood.

after that I might do an intake and exhaust, but I might not. or maybe a turbo D. haven't decided about this stuff yet.
