Default wheel stud problem w/ BBS

I just got this set of bbs wheels for my girlfriends 99 civic, the previous owner was running them on an 88 bmw e30.

However when I got them home, they are so thick that the wheel stud doesnt even break the surface so that i can start threading a lug nut.

I have gathered that I will need new wheel studs, but does BBS use a specific size stud, or is it different for every model of wheel they sell? if so, what is the proper way to measure the length I need to order, just from tip to where it goes into the hub?

Also, do all BBS wheels need tuner lugs, or would I be ok with oem ones?
