Haven't tried the flush, I thought by my description someone would know weather or not the flush would just be a flush of my money or a savior of my transmission?
Automatic Transmissions are a magic box to me...

Maybe you need to consider the converse. How would you feel if you replaced the AT and later found that the work was unnecessary because a fluid flush would have solved the problem? This would be an even greater flush of time and money. I am not saying that an ATF flush will solve the problem, only that it may be worth a try.

When was the ATF last replaced?

I inherited this car so I do not know when the A/T fluid was last replaced.

OK.....I purchased a used A/T replace my slipping transmission. I'm impressed, current transmission has been slipping for over 2000 miles and still getting me to work everyday. Anyway...when I was at the parts place getting new seals for the replacement an A/T filter was listed but said that the transmission must be disassembled to replaced. Does anyone know about this or how difficult replacing that filter would be. It seems like putting a new filter in the replacement would be the smart thing to do before I install it.
