Just replaced motor and freshly rebuilt 5 speed transmission, 97 civic ex--- vtec d16y8.....Problem is trans. won't shift into any gear, trans had synchros for 3rd and 4th replaced as well as shift fork and bearings......clutch was replaced and is operating normal, car appears to be stuck in gear, no neutral......any help or ideas would be appreciated...

take it back to whoever rebuilt the trans. if the clutch is working properly, the trans is screwed up.

 

UPDATE>>>>

I brought the trans back to the trans shop, was told that I was responsible, and that I had to have power shifted into second gear, as all the teeth on the gears, both mainshaft and countershaft were ground off........ended up getting a junkyard trans......would never do business with this shop again>>>>>>>Staria Transmissions in selden,ny.........worst experience of my life as far as mechanic goes......

 

report them to the Better Business Bureau, ASAP. thats BS, you never even moved the car with the trans in it, did you?

 

Small claims court is your friend.
