so my girl friends 94 civic ex is having some problems with her tranny i think... the short drave axle is lose and raddles alot.... it seems that where the axle splines into the tranny is loose is this a common problem and how do i fix it?

 

I'm not entirely sure, but wouldn't that mean a bad CV joint? You probably need to just replace the axle.

 

i did replace the axle but it is still rattleing around where it splines into the trans....

 

Is transmission fluid leaking from the differential where the axle splines insert?

 

not when the axle is in but when i take the axle out its kinda grey like water or somthing might be getting in.... the car is flayless on leaks... no oil or anything else leakin

 

Have you installed the correct axle for the engine? It shouldn't be loose. When grab the axle firmly, where is the free play?

 

im 100% positive its the right axle..... when u grab the axle on the arm? the whole things shakes... its the only thing loose on the whole car that i can think of that would rattle every time i hit a bump.....i grab the axle on my crx or my old 94 civic the axle didnt shake like this one....
