00 ex. installed a sts and it feels real loose and there is soooo much freeplay while in gear(i can move it side to side as if it were in neutral). im not sure if that is normal. and going from 4th to 5th and R the very bottom of the stick bumps the exhuast it doesnt bother me i just dont kno if its soppoesd to. but all in all the actually function of the sts is working perfectly.

the only thing that i would do is go back and retighten all the bolts on the shifter assembley. The exhaust problem is common but im no sure what i would do for that

 

Did you replace bushings when you did the install?
