Default shifter slop problem???

so my shifter feels like it is always in neutral even when in gear their is so much play in the shifter i dont know what to start looking at for a root of the problem i have good bushings but i bought a new set just in case any thoughts on what this might be? also for some reason my car hates third gear it tends to fall out of third at least twice a day but in any other gear its fine this car is starting to **** me off thanks in advance

Not sure about the falling out of gear issue, but the slop could be from shifter bushings being dead, or the bearing where the bolt holds the shifter to the linkage is shot. I think you have to pull the exhaust off in order to access this.

I seriously doubt sloppy shifter feel is anything to do with the trans. I would replace the bushings and try to tighten the bolt holding the shifter to the linkage.

I hope that fixes my third gear from falling out of gear
