dear all,

I have a small problem, i do not change gears properly. As a result, my syncros are gone (fifth gear slipping and crrrrk sound when whacking). Anyways, since i have to change them, i would like to know if after-market ones are any good such as the carbon coated syncros or the original ones are good enough?

I'm running a very stock set-up now but have plans to beef it up very soon(B18, track). While i'm at it, should i perhaps do up my gear box too? I drive an eg9 and i don't suspect the previous owner gave much love and attention to the transmission.

...... Okay.. I will try to be nice.. Number 1, Before spending the moeny on syncro's.. Learn to drive better before you mess up the new syncros.. Number 2, learn to race before the B18 swap.. Number 3 the stock syncros will be fine, when you do the swap you wont be using Dseries tranny anyways so it would not be wroth spending a great deal of money on the syncro's.. thats all i have.. Number 1 is learn to drive better, if you don't drive correctly your gonna be going to synchros like water. If you car has a D-series engine, you cannot mate a B18 to the D-series trans. You will need to get a B-series trans. So if ur getting a swap, don't bother fixing the trans just drive better.
