iight well help me out here please
i got a 88 civic 5 speed tranny cable transmission for a d series engine.
i want to put in my 91 civic hb i already know i need a 88 clutch for the transmission do i need to change the axles because when i tried to put the 88 civic axles i bought they didnt fit into the connection of the wheel but can i use 91 axles for the 88 tranny? or do i need to do a 88 axle conversion for car please help me out

hey guys...so far i have got the shift linkage, clutch cable, and pedal assembly to dot he manual tranny conversion on my 91...on question tho...do i have to get the ecu out of a manual tranny car? or will mine work...i noticed on the clutch pedal there is a plug for a sensor what is that?...does anyone know any wiring problems i will have while doing the conversion?

the plug is for the neutral safety switch, so you cant start the car unless the pedal is down. and yeah, you need the manual ecu. not sure about the wiring though.

i asked a guy around here today and he said my ecu will work and that i wouldnyt have to do any extra wiring?....im confuesd

You might want to change the whole engine bay wiring harnes to avoid cutttin any wires to avoid future problems.

what cutting am i gunna have to do?...man im starting to get scared lol....i need to do it tomroow cuz my auto trany is shot and tomorrow is my only day off...the guy i asked said i wouldnt have to change the ecu or do any electrical....he has had 4 crxs so i trusted him but now you guys are telling me that i need all this crap....im scared now...lol...im going to the junk yard in the mornig to take the tranny out of the 4 door...remember i have a 4th gen...cable tranny...do u think i will be able to finish it in one day?...and also when i take the auto shifter out and everythign will it just be the hole for the stick shifter?...will it bolt right there or is the hole bigger on an auto

I !ASUME! that running your stock ecu will work with a manual tranny, BUT you will get codes from the ecu about the tranny(dough) and your engine MIGHT be running in safe mode if there is such a thing on hondas...

well than I sure the engine will go into it and it'll feel like driving an underpowered lawn mower:-D

on the dpfi ill bet it sucks, but on my old mpfi d15, it felt about the same, actually, it felt like the power delivery was a lot smoother. i dunno if that meant faster, but i solved that little problem.
