my trannys making a noise, but only when it is in gear (noise stops when i press the clutch [disengaged]). i also bought a stage 1 clutch but do not want to install it yet. it also came with a bearing, the shift bearing. could that beaing be the probelm? or do you guys think its something with the tranny itself? cuz if its the bearing i have, then i could do it myself, but im not sure whats wrong. gimme your input. thanks...

 

well it could be the guide bearing or throw out bearing... only way to find out is just pull your tranny and slap those bearings...
ya dont have to pull the clutch to change the bearings...

 

no ive had this problem before its the bearings on the main input shaft in the tranny start lookin for a tranny now, because parts alone for the bearings are $350 and not to mention the insane labor charges a tranny shop will charge you

 

yeh, i just thought about buying a new tranny because they charge ha lotfor taking the tranny apart and putting it back...

u know how much it is for a 97 EK A000 manualtranny?

 

if its a sohc motor any manual tranny from 1992 up civic will work there all the same
