Default unusual bearing noise

Gents:

I have a2000 ex manual 4 dr that is making bearing noise I cannot figure out. Coming from dr side. Usual humming at cruise rises and falls with speed, yet when I turn to load the wheel, the sound disappears. Unloading the wheel increases the sound. Not quite sure what to make of this....

Any ideas?

If it occurs with the wheel unloaded, it should be audible when you jack up the car and turn it by hand. Then remove the brake caliper and try again to be absolutely sure it's not from the brakes.

Sound like a typical wheel bearing on its way out, like the previous post suggested, jacking it up, and removing the brake caliper and or drum, you should be able to feel it while spinning the hub.
a feathered tire will sometimes do this, but not likely.
