i got a 98 Civic HX and it has the "A000" transmission, its a 5 speed. now this tranny only comes on the DX, HX, and CX i beleive. my syncro for second gear is gone and i want a tranny. so i went to the junkyard and they have a tranny out of an EX, and the code on that transmission is the "B000". i researched it and i guess the B000 is stronger than the A000 and also has shorter gear ratios. In theory, will my civic be quicker with the shorter gears? or will it be a dog because ill be shifting more frequently? any help would be great thanks.

 

You'll be better off with the B000!
