Exclamation AMP wont shut off in my 96 EX Coupe

For a few months now my amp will not shut off at all once its connected to the Remote Wire(Blue/White) even if the key is out of the ignition. Everywhere i read, they said it was the remote wire, so i went today about bought new remote wire. Hooked it up and the D@MN thing still wont cut off. (as many know the 96 EX require the factory HU to remain hooked up for the KE and Dome light to still work). I have looked and found that they say to hook the remote wire to the ACC (Red) wire, but it is currently connected to the old HU. UGH!!!!! any ideas???

Splice into the accessory power and run a wire to the amp. Simple fix.

This may be a stupid question, as I have owned a 93 EX, 98 EX, and currently, a 99 EX. I have never had to retain the stock head unit for any reason. All lights work as they should, as well as the factory alarm system which came with them.

Am I missing something?

In the 96-98, I think you had to tuck the stock unit to keep the keyless entry working or something.

Wow, thread's a month old. Gravedigger!

I've seen 3 different cars set up that way. What's the alternative?

3rd party modules. at my shop we buy them from a company called PAC. they make line-out converters and other miscellaneous devices. putting the radio behind the dash is one way, and works fine. but you also have a fat radio sitting behind your dash lol

PAC, Pacific Audio Corp. Pie may have something like that too. idk but pie does make line-outs also.
