I an new to the site, however a long time lover of Civics.
I have a 98 Civic HX and have purchased a new car stereo. How do I get the security code to remove the factory stereo? Any suggestions?

 

You don't need the code to pull the O.E. radio.....just to turn it on when you put it back in. The ser.# call the dealership, give them the # and get the code.

 

Yeah, you will need to press certain buttons on the radio to reveal your serial code, then you can call a dealer. Most of them want you to come in though and provide some proof of ownership, as you could have just boosted the radio and are trying to sell it.
